H.B.K’s Science Day Celebration………

On 2^nd March a ‘Cancer Awareness Day’ was held at H.B.K. Memnagar along with the support of Medisurge Hospital. An excellent, informative exhibition was held where there were a number of posters and charts which gave a detail insight on the causes, prevention and the types of the deadly cancer. The best part was H.B.K’ites were fortunate as amidst them Dr. Jagdish Kothari (GI & Hepatobiliary Surgical Oncologist) was there who himself gave to the students a power point presentation explaining the why’s and how’s of cancer; He also had a healthy interaction with the students. His message was loud and clear that “ Prevention is better than Cure & complete awareness of this disease can help us avoid it’’. The students of std 8^th , 9^th and 11^th were made to realize that they can be the true ambassadors, who after acquiring so much of knowledge about cancer can in turn, be the torch bearers to the society at large. H.B.K’s managing trustee Shri Muktak N Kapadia applauded and promised his full support to this noble cause.

On Sunday 7th Feb, H.B.K organized a programme based on removal of stress and worries for the students and parents of X and XII The present scenario is such that with the approach of the Board Exams, some students are ready to take even extreme steps. They are not able to balance themselves as they are under acute pressure. So H.B.K organized a Yoga session by Yogacharya Birju Acharya and Dr. Punita Acharya which was followed by the address by some Ex-H.B.Kites who have successfully passed through this stage. They were Chhail Khalsa, Mansi Vasavda and Harsh Kapadia. H.B.K had also invited some other schools like St.Kabir, New Tulip and Lotus School who participated bringing along some students along with teachers and interacted whole-hearted. Then some young and dynamic IIM'ites were invited to talk and motivate the students. The impact of which could be immediately seen on our students. It was followed by the public motivator, the young and dynamic Maulin Pandya who really could take the students to heights with his powerful rendition. Shri Muktak.N.Kapadia, the Managing Trustee of the H.B.Kapadia New High School with his powerful and dynamic oratory made the students feel 100% confident and motivated.
